Obituary of Cynthia Gaye Nicholson
OBITUARY Cynthia Gay "Cindy" Nicholson (54) of St. Maries, Idaho died September 20, 2013 in Spokane, WA. Cindy was born to Bud and Sonja Harvey on February 20, 1959 in St. Maries, ID. She was a resident of St. Maries her entire life. Cindy, also known as Marvin or Harv, a drill team member, graduated from St. Maries High School with the class of 1977. Cindy loved the outdoors. In the winter, you could find her on the slopes with a snowmobile or her skis. The mountains of the St. Joe National Forest were close to her heart. Camping, four-wheeling and long drives enjoying the beauty of our area were typical weekend events. She could always be found surrounded by friends and family. As a member of the St. Maries Softball Assn., and Harvey Roofing Softball team, she enjoyed ball field events. With her home overlooking the St. Joe River, you could find her boating or on the family dock working on the best tan in the valley. Cindy's work included working as a waitress for the Kootenai Inn the St. Maries Golf Course and Harvey Sons and Daughters Roofing. She married Kerry Nicholson on March 29, 1996 at Coeur d' Alene, ID. Cindy is survived by her husband Kerry Nicholson at the family home. Her parents Bud and Sonja Harvey, Shelley (Mitch) Santos, Melissa (Todd) Bitterman and brother Jason (Becky) Harvey all of St. Maries, ID. Cindy is also survived by a special young man Mason Sines who she helped raise. She is also survived by her father-in-law Lloyd Nicholson, brothers-in-laws Jerry (Betty) Nicholson, Kevin (Amy) Nicholson, Lowell (Liesl) Nicholson as well as sisters-in-law Koreena (Bob) Stowell and Kelly Nicholson. She was preceded in death by brother Scott Harvey and mother-in-law Jodi Nicholson. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodge Funeral Home, St. Maries, ID. Following the services a "Bonfire" gathering of family and friends will be held at the home of Bud and Sonja Harvey at the Gazebo on the River.
