Christhart Siegfried Schilbach Obituary

Christhart Siegfried Schilbach Obituary

Dr. Chris was called to the Lord on July 19, 2023.  He was a recent resident of St Maries and member of St Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.  His medical career started in Germany, was interrupted by a year at Beloit College as a Fulbright Scholar.  He met his wife of nearly 60 years there.  He graduated from Washington University in St Louis in medicine.  He did a pathology residency and served in the US Army as a pathologist at Ft Carson in CO.  Subsequently, he worked as Emergency Room director and general practice in OR, then took a psychiatry residency in AZ and child/adolescent fellowship at Univ of Washington.  After that training, all his subsequent work was in psychiatry; the last part of his career was working for Locum Tenens which took him to ME, MT, MA, IN, and WA.  He only left his last assignment in an addiction hospital in MA at end of 2022.  He was a naturalized US citizen.  He is survived by his wife, June, son Ivo, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.  He was so proud of his granddaughter who is in medical school.   Faith, family, and work defined his life.

Mass of Christin Burial will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11:30 am at the St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.  Graveside services will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with Military Honors presented.
