Childhood memories I will cherish always, finding Aunt Mary's hidden homemade peanut butter cup in the oven, she always had a Pepsi in her hand (that she shared with NOBODY), pinto beans & ham soup, delicious 3 clover dinner rolls (That's why I'm chubby) ;) and her wonderful potato salad. Her animals were precious to her, even when her pet ferret Mrs. Alex was attached by her sharp teeth to her child's foot. Blood spraying everywhere and she didn't want my mother (Mary's sister) to hurt the ferret while trying to free the child's foot. She would however give it her best shot at sounding like uncle Charley as she yelled "Herrr" out the back sliding door of their home in Alaska to quiet the team of sled dogs. Power outages were a very common occurrence in Alaska and with well water we often had bathtubs of water for flushing toilets. After a recent power outage, one of my little sisters (age 2-3) went into Mary's bathroom and decided to get one of Aunt Mary's precious Cockatiels' "Fred" out to play (give him a bath). Aunt Mary, as much as she probably wanted to, didn't kill my sister when she was told "Fred dont bite no more". I have so many childhood memories that I will cherish alway.
