Obituary of Inge I. Best

Ingeborg Irene Best (68) resident of St. Maries, ID died October 1, 2013 at St. Maries. She was born January 29, 1945 to Rudolph and Paula (Neibling) Wolff in Fulda, Germany. Inge spent the first 5 months of her life in a bomb shelter due to Allied bombing at the end of World War II. She was educated at Fulda. As a young woman, Inge worked for Fulda Fils Fabric which was a producer of felt. Inge worked in the shipping department. Inge married James Harlen Best on August 22, 1963 at Baumholder, Germany. She followed her husband, where ever his military career took the family. She lived in St. Maries during the late 1960's and worked for Economy Hardware. When her husband retired in 1989, they returned to St. Maries permanently . Inge went to work in 2000 for the Coeur d' Alene Tribal Casino as a customer service representative. She really enjoyed her job, especially being able to visit with customers as well as her friends. She was currently employed by the Coeur d' Alene tribe at the time of her death. Inge enjoyed fishing and playing Bingo. She also was accomplished at sewing and crocheting. One of her favorite pastimes was cooking up many culinary delights that were enjoyed by her family and friends. She was an avid bowler and her high average was the top of the female bowlers in the city league. Inge is survived by her husband Jim at the family home in St. Maries. Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Dwaine Shafe of Green River, WY Also surviving are son James H. Best Jr. of San Antonio, TX and Christian Best and fiancé Jennifer Massey of Medical Lake, WA and son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Novelle Best of St. Maries, ID. , her brother Gehardt (Heidrun) Wolff of Fulda, Germany; her sisters Irmgard (Horst) Schwartz of Fulda, Germany and Anna Marie Moats and Ingrid (Earl) Taylor both of Kentucky. Also surviving are grandchildren Dwaine Shafe Jr., Johnny Shafe, Joshua Shafe, Maryrebekah Shafe, Alexander Shafe, Cassian Best, and Carlos Perez. Great Grand daugter Genesis Perez. Visitation will be Saturday Oct,. 5, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. To 4:00 p.m. And Sunday , October 6, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m. At the Hodge Funeral Home, St. Maries . Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Oct. 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. At St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church with Fr. John Gathungu officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the St. Maries Eagles Lodge.
