Obituary of Nickie Maurice Fox

Nickie M. Fox (74) resident of St. Maries, Idaho died November 7, 2023 at her home in St. Maries.  She was born Dec. 12,1948 to Jerry and Colleen (McKenzie) Pricolo at Stockton, CA. Nickie grew up in Stockton, CA and spent most of her adult life within 30 miles of there.

Nickie was a very determined and hard-working woman.  She spent time working in the food service industry, had a janitorial business, as well as having a landscape business.  She loved to entertain and have dinner parties which led to her opening another business, catering.  In the mid 80’s she became a licensed manicurist and opened several very successful nail salons around the Stockton and Escalon, California area.

Having had an earlier failed marriage, she met the love of her life Sanford Fox and married him in May of 1988.  Nickie and Sanford moved to Escalon, CA in 1990 and spent the next 25 years raising family.  She closed her nail salons in the late 1990’s and, seeking a new challenge, started driving a school bus for the Oakdale, CA School Dist.   She did this for 10 years before an injury forced her to medically retire.  In 2018, she and her husband moved to St. Maries to enjoy their retirement. Nickie enjoyed remodeling and decorating her home, which was her pride and joy.

Nickie is survived by her husband Sanford at the family home. Her children Howard (Cris) Hipsher of Lodi, CA, Jarrod Hipsher of Stockton, CA, Portia Hipsher of Modesto, CA, Gina (Dana) Mims of Ada, OK, Carrie Fox of Stockton, CA and Doug Poe of Wallace, ID.  Also surviving are her sisters Toni (David) Boyle, Mary (Bruce) Gervason and Kathy Pricolo.  Nickie is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
