Obituary of Joyce E. Sindt

Joyce E. Sindt (81) longtime resident of St. Maries, ID died October 18, 2013 at St Maries. She was born April 11, 1932 to Alex and Lula (Reimers) Moore at Forbes, North Dakota. Joyce moved with her family to St. Maries when she was a child. She attended St. Maries schools. Joyce married Buster Asbury in 1949 at St. Maries. Their marriage produced two sons. They were divorced in 1963. Joyce married Henry Sindt in 1966 at St. Maries. Joyce was a homemaker all her life. She helped her husband run his logging business, working in several capacities and as a book keeper . Joyce enjoyed gardening. She enjoyed visiting old logging campsites and collecting artifacts from days gone bye. She has a collection of Chinese artifacts from logging and railroad days years ago. Joyce and her husband enjoyed being "Rock Hounds". They enjoyed doing lapidary (collecting precious gems that were made into jewelry). Joyce and Henry enjoyed traveling to the Washington and Oregon coasts. Joyce was a 60 year member of the St. Maries Eagles Auxiilary. She was a former member of the St. Maries Camera Club. Joyce is survived by her husband at the family home. Also surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Ron and Maggie Asbury and son Dave Asbury , Step-sons and their wives Fred and Karen Sindt and Ted and Jackie Sindt all of St. Maries, ID. Her step-daughter Viola Vosburg of Spokane, WA. Also surviving are sisters Joanne Phillips, Maurene Adams and Gerri Moore all of Spokane, WA. 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister Betty Lou Crane. A celebration of her life will be Monday, October 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Maries Eagles Lodge with Deacon Floyd Turner officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow services at the St. Maries Eagles Lodge.
