Obituary of James L. Sexton

James Lyle Sexton (80) resident of Fernwood, ID died January 16, 2012 from injuries received in an automobile accident near Harvard, ID. He was born January 5, 1932 to Jack and Laura (Addington) Sexton at Worley, ID He grew up in various communities of North Idaho. He married Chloe Jordan on Jan. 11, 1953 at Coeur d' Alene where they made their home. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 and served in Korea and Japan. He was discharged in 1955 and returned to Coeur d' Alene. He worked for a local saw mill before moving to Seattle, WA in 1964. In Seattle , Jim worked for Bayside Disposal Service driving truck for large dumpsters. He moved to Fernwood, ID in 1972. He owned a mechanic garage for 1 year while working for Scott Paper. In the late 1970's to the late 1980's he worked as a sawyer for various logging contractors. He retired in 1993 following an accident. Jim was involved in home improvement projects and enjoyed working on automobiles. He and his wife raised toy Pomeranians. Jim was a member of the Fernwood Senior Center and the St. Maries V.F.W. Post. His wife died in the same automobile accident as he did. Jim is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Angela and Chuck Winter and Cheryl and Bill Taylor all of St. Maries. He is also survived by his sister Joy Brucker of St. Maries, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by son Jim H. Sexton in 2009, his brothers Eddie "Shorty" Sexton, Jerry, Everett and Johnny Sexton as well as sisters Mary West, Flossie Sampson and Violet Cobe.
