Milton was employed with various local businesses including a feed store, a grain elevator, and a pole yard. He worked for many years as a small engine mechanic before taking a position at a local mill. In the early1980’s, Milt opened his own business selling and repairing small engine equipment with stores in St. Maries and in Potlatch, Idaho. He and Bev relocated to Princeton in 1988 where they resided for 35 years. Milton retired in 1999.

He was involved in the UpRiver Saddle Club, Benewah County Sheriff’s Posse, Benewah County Fair Board, St. Maries Elks, Potlatch Lions, and Princeton Community Center.
