Obituary of Ramona E Schueller
Ramona E. Schueller (85) , longtime St Maries resident, died October 30, 2013 at her home following an extended illness. She was born March 12, 1928 to Harry and Clara (Hanson) Miller at Browns Valley Village, Minnesota. Mona grew up in Browns Valley Village and as a young girl, worked as an egg grader as well as working in a local creamery. Mona and Francis Schueller were married on May 12, 1947 at Wheaton, MN. They made their home at Browns Valley where they began their family. While living there, Mona was involved in various activities that included her children. School, Scouting programs, and church functions, were a few of the things she enjoyed being a part of. In 1963, Mona and Francis moved the family by train to St. Maries, ID. Her first job was as a cook for the local bowling alley. Mona later went on to work as manager for the Midway Supper Club. After the restaurant was sold, she went to work for the St. Maries School District as a cook in the lunch room. Her culinary skills were exceptional. Mona worked for School District 41 for 14 years. Her husband died in 1988 and she retired shortly after that. Mona's family was her whole life. She enjoyed making all holidays and birthdays extra special for her kids. All her children's friends had a second home and everyone was always welcome. Mona was famous for her potato salad, apple pies, and peanut brittle. Christmas was Mona's favorite holiday and angels were her favorite ornament. She was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. Mona is survived by her daughters Marcie Telford of St. Maries and Marilyn Czech of Kelso, WA. Daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Skip Harwood and Dede and Jeff Shippy, both from St. Maries, ID. Krys and Mark Martzall and Tammy Ponto and her finance, Dirk McClendon of Spokane. Her son and daughter in law, Tim and Boni Schueller of St. Maries and Steve Schueller and his finance, Kris Denny of Post Falls, ID. Also surviving are her brother Dean Miller of Beardsley, SD and sisters Joyce Kaufman of Wahpeton, MN and Marion Saide of Hayward, CA. 20 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mona was preceded in death by brothers Willis and Eli Miller, sisters Dorothy Leverson, Ardis McKee and Helen Weeks as well as her son-in-law Mike Telford. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church with Deacon Floyd Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Benedictine Hall.
