Obituary of Christian Rory Kreiger
Christian Rory Kreiger (36) resident of Sandpoint and former resident of St. Maries, passed away on July 12, 2024. He was born on July 11, 1988, to Krista Kreiger in Medford, OR. Christian grew up in St. Maries and attended school there. He was unable to participate in sports because of an injury; however, he was talented, creative, and excelled in art. He graduated from St. Maries High School with the class of 2007.
Following high school, Christian moved to Coeur d’ Alene and attended North Idaho College. He obtained his A.S. Degree in Environmental Science. After college, he returned to St. Maries and went to work for Potlatch Corporation on the patch line. Looking for a change, Christian moved to the Kreiger family property on the Upper Pack river road near Sandpoint to help take care of his Grandfather and worked for Thorne Supplements for a few years. He also worked at a tree farm and cedar plank mill.
Christian was an avid outdoorsmen and loved to hunt, hike, and dig for crystals. He most likely had one of the biggest rock collections one has seen. Visits to the beach on the Oregon Coast were where some of his favorite memories were made, and he loved collecting agates while he was there. Born with a sense of humor and a quick wit, his family will miss his jokes, pranks, and funny personality the most. There was never a dull moment when he was around. One of his passions was the Birds of Prey sanctuary with Keaton Buell.
Christian is survived by his parents Krista Kreiger of Gorham, ME and Joe (Rondi) Martin of St. Maries, ID; siblings Jeffrey Kreiger of Libby, MT, Brady (Brittney) Martin of Coeur d’ Alene, ID, Gabriel Martin (Jordan Hill) of Post Falls, ID, Lauryn Hill of St. Maries, ID, Ethan Hill of Rathdrum, ID, Emily Hill of St. Maries, ID, and Bailee Martin of St. Maries, ID; niece Aurora Hill of St. Maries, ID; grandmothers Diana Martin, Sharron Martin, and Lynne Linnemeyer; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and beloved best friends Keaton and Teri Buell.
