Sally Ann Pentland (76) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away at Kootenai Health on July 29, 2024.  She was born to Stanley and Betty Head on October 21, 1947, at The Dalles, OR.  Sally grew up in Parkdale, OR.  In 1963 she moved to St. Maries, ID with her family, and earned her GED from St. Maries High School.

On July 2, 1965, Sally married Mike Pentland, and they made their home in St. Maries.  She was a homemaker and raised her sons.  When her boys started school, she went to work at the Parkline before becoming the Produce Manager for Archie’s IGA.  In 1990, Sally went to work for the St. Maries school district as a certified driving instructor training bus drivers to obtain their CDL.  In 2006, both Sally and Mike retired.

Sally was quite talented and excelled at painting houses and hanging wallpaper.  She enjoyed making pine needle baskets and could sew.  Over the years she made quilts, embroidered, and made afghans.  She and Mike wintered in Parker, AZ and enjoyed it very much.    

Sally is survived by her husband Mike; children Michael Shaun (Ramona) Pentland of Spokane Valley, WA and Jason Pentland of Candler, NC; siblings Charles Head of Tri-Cities, WA, Tina Park of Asotin, WA, and Leslie (Richard) Lampman of Lake Michigan; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents and infant son David Shaun Pentland.

A Committal Service will take place on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 10:00 am at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries.  A gathering of family and friends to share a picnic will follow at Dale and Robin Baerlocher’s river lot up the St. Joe River.  Memorial donations are suggested to Hopes Haven, 53 Robinson Lane, St. Maries, ID 83861.
