Marvin Lee Moore (85) longtime resident of St. Maries, ID passed away at his home on August 3, 2024.  He was born to Clifford and Nettie Moore on February 18, 1939, in Mesa, ID.  Marvin grew up around Southern Idaho where his parents farmed.  As a young man, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving 4 years.

On December 3, 1958, Marvin married Joyce Lenoard while he was in the service.  When he was honorably discharged in 1960, the couple made their home in Payette, ID.  Marvin farmed and later went to work at a small lumber mill.  In 1966 the family moved to St. Maries where Marvin went to work for Potlatch Corporation.  He received early retirement due to a back injury in 1983. 

Marvin enjoyed fishing and woodworking.  He loved his garden, specifically raising garlic.

Marvin is survived by his wife Joyce at their home in St. Maries; children Donna Daline of St. Maries, and Judy (Jeff) Hansen of St. Maries; brother Jim (Barbara) Moore of St. Maries; 7 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his son David Moore; and his siblings Ron Moore, Orvin Poston, and Lola Holt. 

A Memorial Service will be at his home at 305 Spyrock Dr. on Sunday September 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m..  Military honors will be presented. Please bring your chairs for seating.
