Obituary of Chuck Schierman
Charles “Chuck” M. Schierman (79) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away at Benewah Community Hospital on September 20, 2024. He was born to Rienald and Alice (Spracklen) Schierman on February 24, 1945, in Bandon, OR. Chuck grew up in the St. Maries area, and attended school between Fernwood, Santa, and St. Maries.
Following his schooling, Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Airforce. He was then transferred to the U.S. Army. When he was discharged, Chuck returned to St. Maries where he married Alma Pederson, and the couple had their son Rod. The marriage ended in divorce, and he later met Diane Kachelmier. The couple had their daughter Kim, and they later divorced. Chuck was blessed with love again when he joined his life with Minnie Rose. The couple played music together and moved to Alaska for a short time. While he was in Alaska, Chuck continued to play music and drive Taxi.
Chuck was a simple man who loved Merle Haggard and enjoyed playing music, specifically the guitar. He had a great voice and if he wasn’t playing music in a band, you could catch him downtown singing karaoke. Wild at times, Chuck will be remembered for doing things his own way and making up his own rules.
Chuck is survived by his son Rod Schierman of Clarkston, WA; siblings Adair Hebert of Plummer, ID, Franky Ross of Cedar Rapids, IA, Don Stratton of Apple Valley, MN, and Kathy (Frank) Adams of Santa, ID; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren with 1 on the way; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kimberly Schierman; and siblings Wilma Banderob, LeRoy Schierman, and Judy Miles.
A Celebration of Chuck’s life will be on October 13, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the CAF Building in Fernwood, ID.
