Obituary of George A. Hills
George A. Hills (67) resident of St. Maries, ID., died November 6, 2013 at home following an extended illness. He was born October 9, 1946 to Ray and Alma (York) Hills at St. Maries, ID. He grew up and attended school in St. Maries, ID. George graduated from St. Maries High School and enlisted in the Navy. After serving 4 years in the military, he returned to St. Maries where he married his childhood best friend Susan Koshney in 1968 at Harrison, ID. They made their home in St. Maries and George went to work for Potlatch Corporation working in various areas of the mill's operations. George and his wife became Jehovah's Witnesses in 1973 and raised their family. George enjoyed sharing Bible truths with friends and neighbors, local recreation, snowmobiling, camping, hunting, fishing, marble boards, and teaching his sons mechanics. George is survived by his wife Susan at the family home. Sons and daughters-in-law Toby and Harmonie Hills of Polson, MT, Andy and Angela Hills of Hayden, ID, Dan and Rebecca Hills of New York. Daughter and son-in-law Tami and B.J. Derr of St. Maries, ID. Also surviving are George's brother Richard (Kathy) Hills of St. Maries and sisters Nancy Pennock of Coeur d' Alene, JoAnn (Gary) Clark of Emida, ID, Rosie (Richard) Curran of Hauser Lake, ID and Martha (Ralph) Bandrob of St. Maries. Six grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. George was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Alma Hills, brother Roger Hills, sister Reva Hills, Daughter Suzie Hills, and grandson Charles Derr.
