Obituary of Jack W. Harold
Jack Wendell Harold (86) passed away on November 1, 2024 at Valley Vista Care Center in St. Maries, ID. He was born to Olga (Patterson) Harold and Wendell Harold on August 4, 1938 in San Francisco, CA. His mother moved he and his brother to St. Maries around 1939. Jack started work at the ripe age of 12 setting up bowling pins at the bowling alley for Wilma Torchey. At age 14 he then started work for the railroad. When he was 16 he met the love of his life, Dolly Carpenter, to whom he married in 1956 and spent his life with. Jack and Dolly ran off to Alaska for a year after marriage and upon his return he worked for many different local businesses. In 1974, Jack and Dolly purchased St. Maries Concrete from Art Bryntesen. They ran the business together until they sold the business to their youngest son Tucker and his wife Becky in 2002.
Jack was always a hard worker and could figure out how to build or fix almost anything even though he only completed school through part of the 8th grade. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone and was well known for smiling and sparking up a conversation with a stranger. He had a love for tinkering on old cars or strumming on his guitar. He spent countless hours in his shop after retirement working on his many projects, taking care of his wife Dolly before she passed, and cruising around town stopping for a meal or visit at local establishments.
Jack is survived by his son and daughter in-law Tucker and Becky Harold of St. Maries; grandchildren Holly Jo (Josh) Shea, Lexie (Ryan) Barbour, and Gabrial Harold all of St. Maries; 5 great-grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Olga Anderson, Mabel and Wendell Harold; wife Dolly Harold; son Tony Harold; brother James Harold; and sister Janice Anderson.
