Obituary of Frances L. Miller

Frances Louise Miller (75) resident of Fernwood, ID died November 11, 2013 at St. Maries, ID following an extended illness. She was born July 16, 1938 to Harold and Helen (Sluther) Gamble at Snohomish, WA. Fran Grew up in Snohomish and graduated from Snohomish High School with the Class of 1957. She married David Rich in 1958 at Snohomish where they made their home. Fran was involved in raising her family there. She was divorced in 1966. Fran and Le Roy Miller were married in 1968 at Snohomish and she and her husband worked as carpenters in the construction of many dairy farms throughout the Snohomish Valley. She moved to Fernwood, ID in 1980. LeRoy was involved in the construction of the C.A.F. building as well as the Fernwood Café and Laundromat. Fran and her husband went to work part time for the U.S. Forest Service in 1986 and worked out of the Clarkia work center. Fran worked in the Administration Dept. They retired in 1997 and returned to Snohomish, WA. Her husband died in 2000. Fran returned to Fernwood to live with her daughter and son-in-law in 2002. Fran was known for her culinary skills and enjoyed cooking. Fran loved socializing and friends would look forward to gathering at her house for a cup of "the hottest coffee" around and also enjoy her pastries. Fran was a strong willed woman and knew how to take care of herself. Fran is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ronda and Jack Ellinwood of Fernwood, ID and sons Robert and Reuben Rich both of Boise, ID Also surviving are her brothers Eric Gamble of Alaska , John Gamble and sisters Maxine Gagnet and Marsha Raymond all of Washington. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by grandchildren Terry Ellinwood and Danial Rich. Private services will be held by the family at a later date.
