Obituary of Beverly Ruth Hoover

Beverly Ruth Gooden Hoover (81) resident of Fernwood, ID, died Nov. 26, 2013 at St. Maries, ID. She was born February 18, 1932 to Orville and Ruth (Freeman) Gooden at Los Angeles, CA. She grew up there and graduated from Westwood High school, Westwood , CA. Following high school graduation, Bev attended nurses training and studied pharmacology. Bev worked as a Practical nurse in California and Oregon. She retired in 1976 and moved to Harrison, ID. Bev had marriages to Don Leon who passed away in 1985 and Ed Schorzman who passed away in 1999. She married Larry Hoover in 2003. Bev was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, St. Maries Ward. She also was a member of the Senior Companion program for 21 years. Bev was a member of the Harrison chapter of T.O.P.S. She enjoyed singing with the Golden Bells and other musical groups. Bev loved to read true mysteries and biographies. Bev is survived by her husband Larry at the family home in Fernwood. Also surviving are her sons Donald Leon of Harrison, ID, Ronald Leon of Fallon, NV, Samuel Leon of Eugene, OR and David Leon of Springfield, OR. Eddie Schorzman of Boise, ID, brother John Gooden of Onalaska, TX and sister Barbara Stokes of Hayward, CA. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 2 nieces and 3 nephews. Graveside services will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Hodge Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
