God bless the memory of my sister-in-law Dorothy who was like a mother to my brothers Lyle A. and Fred W. and me. Brother Bill and Dorothy brought us to the Benewah farm in 1943 when we were in our teens. She was only 25 at the time but took good care of us until our folks moved up to Benewah County a year later. Her passing is the end of an era and she will be greatly missed.

Grandma Craner will be missed by many of us, she put up with allot of us growing up and always took care of us all. I grew up coming up every summer nice I was about 8 yrs old helping her and Grandpa Bill and seeing my cousins and meeting our extended family including the McFadden family any my personal favorite Spud. Grandma Craners story is one that is very unique and is a true testimate of what a good honest, hard working person can do in life and she will to be forgotten. To Mom, Uncle Bilie, Aunt Genie, and my Aunt Debbie miss you all and I look forward to seeing you all in February. Cheers to Dorothy Craner!

Not many people can say they have been neighbors for fifty plus years... but the Craners and McFaddens can. "Big Bill" and Dorothy - along with Jeanie, Debbie, Becky and Billie - were the best neighbors the McFadden family could have imagined.
From nightly hide and seek games (Craner's light post was the "free zone") to B.B. guns, train sets in the basement, trikes on the sidewalk, games in the vacant lot and basketball in the driveway.... our childhood was magic. This was much in thanks to the kindness of the Craners ... and to the antics of our beloved Billie.
Dorothy has been keeping a watchful eye and a friendly wave on Jefferson Street for as long as any of us can remember. Dorothy was a wonderful friend and neighbor and her humor and goodness will not be forgotten.
With much love,
The McFadden Family .... Dick, Katherine, Pat, Mary Kay, Betsy, Barb and Sue

To Debbie; I am sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. I remember all the times we shopped @ your store when we lived with Grandma Conley. Also how much trouble we got in as kids. I am glad your Mom got to stay in her own home till she passd.
