Obituary of Rita J. Ziegler

Rita J. Ziegler (84) resident of St. Maries, ID. Died December 17, 2013 at St. Maries. She was born November 24, 1929 to George and Nellie (Cox) Miller at Detroit, MI. Rita grew up in Detroit. When she was 6 years old, the family moved to Macomb Co, MI. She graduated from High School at Utica, MI with the Class of 1947. Rita then attended Eastern Michigan Univ. at Upsilanti, MI for 2 years. Rita then taught elementary education at Macomb Co. and Saugatuck, MI. She ten attended Western Michigan, Univ. At Kalamazo, MI where she received her B.S. and Masters degrees in Education. Rita taught for 14 years in Michigan before going to work for the U.S. Postal Service in 1968. She transferred to Denver, CO in 1978. Rita retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1979. She worked in retail sales in various stores in the Denver Area, retiring a second time in 1990. Rita moved to St. Maries, ID in 1997. Rita was an avid reader , especially of historical information. She enjoyed walking and watching wild life documentaries. Rita was a member of the St. Maries Comm. Presbyterian Church. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Eric Ziegler of Belleview, WA and her sister –in-law Nancy Ziegler. A celebration of her life will be held at Valley Vista Care Center at a date and time to be announced.
