Obituary of Lela H. Allen

Lela H. Allen, (92) resident of Fernwood, ID died March 2, 2013 at St. Maries, ID. She was born April 11, 1921 to Lawrence and Annie (Bryson) Hall at Bryson City, N.C. Lela grew up in Maggie Valley, N.C. She married Arling McGaha in 1937. They made their home at Maggie Valley until 1957 when they moved to Sylva, N.C. Her husband died in 1958. Lela married Ed Cope in 1959 at Sylva, N.C. Lela was a homemaker all her life, she enjoyed canning, making quilts and canning. She moved to Fernwood, ID in 1968. Mr. Cope died in 1999 and she returned to Sylva, NC . Lela married Harley Allen in 2002 and he died later that same year. She returned to Fernwood in August of last year. Lela enjoyed listening to music and going camping. Lela is survived by son's and daughters-in-law Bill and Katherine McGaha of Sylva, NC, Earl and Jackie McGaha and Thomas and Cheryl Cope all of Fernwood, ID, her daughter and son-in-law Arlene and Carl Ferguson of Fernwood, ID. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Edward McGaha and daughter Rosalee McGaha as well as brothers Bill, Charlie, Ed and Arnold and sisters Mae, Lena, Bonnie and her twin sister Lillie. Local services will be held at a date and time to be announced later this Spring. Her funeral will be held in Sylva, NC and she will be laid to rest next to her twin sister Lillie at Sylva, NC.
