Obituary of Nova B. Haskins
Nova B. Haskins (92) longtime St. Maries, ID resident, died March 11, 2014 at St. Maries, ID. She was born September 30 1921 to Philip and Ella Mae (Flowers) Williams at Center Ridge, AR. Nova grew up between Clinton and Marlton, AR. As a young girl, she went to work for N.Y.A.(National Youth Administration) making mattresses for the WPA (Works Progress Admin.) Nova Married John Haskins on November 28, 1940 at Heber Springs, AR. She lived at Edgmont, AR during WW II while her husband served in the military. Nova and John moved to St. Maries in 1951. She was a homemaker all her life. Her husband died in 1988. She was a member of the St. Maries Assembly of God church where she was very active in all aspects of the church. Nova enjoyed gardening and canning what she grew. She also enjoyed growing flowers and quilting. One of Nova's favorite pastimes was to visit the residents of Valley Vista. Nova is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ed and Bonnie Haskins of St. Maries, ID., her daughter Barbara Barclay of Wenatchee, WA, and daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn and Matt Meenach of Wenatchee, WA and Johnnie and Tom Moore of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by brother Thomas Williams and sisters Rachael Wilson and Hazel Hawthorne all of Hot Springs, AR, Nova is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Maries Assembly of God Church with Pastors Lynn Peters and Warren Law officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with a gathering of family and friends following that back at the Fellowship Hall of the Church.
