Obituary of Sarah Ellen Hult
Sarah E. Hult (92) former St. Maries, ID resident and current Valley Ford, WA resident, died March 13, 2104 at Spokane, WA. She was born January 20, 1923 to James and Ethel (Hyden) Jones at Cranes Nest, Kentucky. Sarah grew up at Cranes Nest, Ky. As a young girl, she worked on the family farm. Sarah married Walker J. Palmer Jan. 20, 1940 at Cranes Nest. During the War years, Sarah was proud of the fact that she was one of the "Rosie the Riveter's" as she worked for Wrights and Globe-Warnacke Aircraft Manufacturing putting together aircraft for the war effort. She also worked for National Distillery putting State liquor stamps on bottles She and her husband moved to St. Maries in 1948. She was a homemaker and also worked as a waitress. Some of her employers were the C & M Café, the Handi Korner, the Parkline and the Kootenai Inn. Her husband died in 1962. She married David Hult July 16, 1962 at Butte, MT. They made their home in St. Maries. The moved to Post Falls in 1967 and lived for 12 years in Nevada where her husband was employed. They moved to Valley Ford, WA in1975. She enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, embroidery and growing flowers. An avid bowler, Sarah bowled several 600 series. Sara is survived by her husband at the family home in Valley Ford, WA. Also surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Andy and Melvina Palmer of Post Falls, ID, her daughter Sharon Mae Arnold of Dalton, GA. And sisters Gaynelle Marsh of Clarkston, WA, Zada Jones of St. Maries, ID, Mary E. Farrow of Baltimore, MD and Jeanetta Morgan of Cincinnati, Ohio. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter Vera Gale Palmer and sisters Edna Shouse and Amanda Hall. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodge Funeral Home with Rev. Parker McNeill officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
