Obituary of Vera E. Rose
Vera E. Rose (75) longtime St. Maries resident and beautician went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 25, 2014 at her daughter's home near St. Maries. Vera was born August 14, 1938 to LaVerne and Surrelda (Linder) Warfield at Weiser, ID. She grew up in Midvale, ID and later moved to Prospect, OR where she graduated from Prospect High School with the class of 1957. Following her graduation, Vera went to beautician school and worked as a waitress at Payette ID. She also worked as a Nanny at Prospect, OR. Vera married Bud Rose on May 9, 1959 at Winnemucca, NV. They made their homes in Reno, NV, Boise and Lewiston, ID before moving to St. Maries in 1965. Vera was involved in raising her family in those early years at St. Maries. In the early 1970's, she started her beautician career. She first worked for Lois Tuel, before opening up Headquarters Salon. In 1984, she opened Vera's Professional Hair Care. She sold the business in early 1990. Vera continued to work part time for other local beauty salons. Vera was an avid golfer and won several Ladies Golf Club Championships. She was a member of the St. Maries Ladies Golf Assn. She was also a member of the College Ave. Baptist Church. Church was a very important part of her life. Vera is survived by her husband Bud at the family home. Her son and daughter-in-law Lucas and Jenny Rose of St. Maries and daughter and son-in-law Terri and Putt Reid of St. Maries. Also surviving are brothers Lyle Pope of Prospect, OR and Rod Warfield of Kuna, ID, sisters Arlene Clark of McCall, ID, Mary Granger of Shady Cove, OR. And Gloria Warfield of Boise, ID. Also surviving are grandchildren Amy, Kayla, Vierra, Spencer, Xan, McKenzie, Caden, Alyssa and Brennan and great- great grandchild Corbin. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother Dan and sisters Lorraine and Joy. Private interment has taken place at Woodlawn Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the St Maries Nazarene Church Gymnasium. A gathering of family and friends will follow services.
