Obituary of Donald E. Skeels

Donald E. Skeels (57) resident of St. Maries died peacefully in his sleep on April 16, 2014 while wintering in Earp, CA with his sister and brother-in-law. Don was born on September 28, 1956 to Harvey and Nellie (Marlett) Skeels at Colville, WA. He grew up outside Colville and attended school there. Don was disabled all his life. He lived at home with his mother where he enjoyed working with plants. Shortly before his mother's death, he moved to St. Maries, ID to live with his sister and brother-in-law Mona and Joe Tweedy. Following Mona's death in 2010, Don began to live with his other sister and her husband Donna and Jim Cunningham in St. Maries. Don enjoyed their trips to Arizona in the winter. Don attended services at the St. Maries Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his brothers Tom Skeels of Lewiston, ID, Alvin, Timothy and Randy Skeels all of Colville, WA. and brother-in-law Joe Tweedy of St. Maries. His sisters Donna (Jim) Cunningham of St. Maries and Annette Watson of Springdale, WA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Harvey and Chester Skeels and sister Mona Tweedy. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the St Maries Assembly of God Church. A reception will follow services at the church. He will be laid to rest with his mother at Chewelah, WA.
