Obituary of Harry F. Lippy
Harry F. Lippy (88) former Plummer, ID resident, died May 1, 2014 at Creekside Inn in Coeur d' Alene, ID. He was born September 1, 1925 to Arthur and Mabel (Thompson) Lippy in Chicago, IL. He grew up living in Eastern Montana and later resided in Western Montana, North Dakota, and Idaho. Harry worked for Great Northern, Burlington Northern, and Amtrak as a brakeman, a conductor, and a baggage man. He married Margaret LaRoque on April 29, 1944 in Sidney, MT. They went on to have nine children. Harry retired from the Railroad after 42 years of service in 1987. In 1989 they moved from Kalispell, MT to Florence, MT and to Plummer ID in 2004. His wife Margaret died in 2009. Harry enjoyed camping, traveling, playing pinochle, going on scenic drives, listening to old time country music, and dancing. He also loved to spend time with his large extended family and was a member of the Catholic faith. Harry is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Harry and Lorri Lippy, Gary and Sandie Lippy, George and Karla Lippy, John and Lynn Lippy, Joseph and Debbie Lippy, and James and Meg Lippy. His daughters and sons-in-law Barbara and Jack LaRoque, Shirley and Ed Holmquist, and Rose and Ross Scratch. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Belva Humphreys.
