Obituary of DeWayne E. Riggs

DeWayne E. Riggs Sr. (53) resident of Fernwood, ID, died June 15, 2014 in Spokane, WA from heart failure. He was born November 11, 1960 to Larry and Ruby (Blankenship) Riggs in Tillamook, OR. DeWayne attended Neah-Kah-Nie High School. Following high school, he moved to Fernwood, ID where he went to work in the woods running equipment. He married Carrie Stalford in November of 1979 in Fernwood. They had two children Amy and DeWayne Jr. They were divorced in 2007. DeWayne enjoyed motorcycles , the mountains, spending time with his children and family. DeWayne was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed bringing firewood to people. He married Cheryl Fields on July 7, 2007 near St. Maries. DeWayne is survived by his wife Cheryl Riggs of Fernwood, son DeWayne Riggs Jr. of Myrtle Point, OR and daughter Amy Riggs of Fernwood. Also surviving are his mother and step-father Ruby and Eldon Garner of Santa, ID, sister Renee MacLeod of Tillamook, OR and four Grandchildren and one nephew. A celebration of his life will be on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fernwood Comm. Bible Church with Pastor Brian Primer officiating.
