Obituary of Shawnna Marie Newman

Shawnna Marie Newman (33) resident of Plummer, ID died July 23, 2014 at her home in Plummer, ID from complications due to Type II diabetes. She was born November 17, 1980 at Glenwood Springs, CO. Her adoptive parents were Jerry and Aleta Mae (Osborn) Newman. Shawnna grew up in New Castle, CO until she was 6 years old. The family then moved to Lamar, CO where she attended school and received her GED at the age of 17. Shawnna attended Job Corps until she was 20 years old. Shawnna enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2000. She was an Aviation Boatswain Mate Handler. She worked rose to Petty Officer 3rd Class. She served during "Operation Iraqi Freedom" and met her future husband Aaron in Bahrain in 2007. She was honorably discharged in 2008. She married Aaron Whitlow on Nov. 10, 2009 when Aaron was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Shawnna found property on the Fairfield Road near Plummer, ID and she and her husband purchased the property in 2010 and relocated their family there. She loved to cook and shoot guns, Shawnna also liked horses and the outdoors. She loved her friends and family. Shawnna was a member of the VFW. Shawnna is survived by her husband Aaron Whitlow stationed at Bremerton, WA. her daughters Kaitlynn AmyMae Newman and Rabacca JoAnn whitlow both at the family home in Plummer. Also surviving are her brother A.J. Newman of Plummer, ID and her birth mother Sheryl Newman of Plummer. She was preceded in death by both her adoptive parents. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodge Funeral Home, St. Maries, ID.
