Larry was the first born grandchild of Edith and OB Nelson. I was the fourth grandchild.
Larry's Dad, Ray Nelson and my Dad, Ed Nelson were the best of brothers. They loved to get together in St. Maries and see what mischief they could stir up. Larry was a lot like his Dad, only quieter. Larry was always around in my life in my younger years. He would be quietly watching his sister and I playing with a sweet smile on his face. I carried about half a crush on him.
In later years, Larry was especially kind to his Grandparents. He worked out of the area a good deal, but would always stop to see them at Christmas. Grandma would say, " That Larry! He had a half a beef delivered to us for Christmas." Some times it would be half a pork. He was thoughtful and generous. He would stop and see them in Coeur d' Alene when he could. He was also very kind to his step-mother after his Dad passed away. He kept a place for Margie to live and watched after her.
Larry was truly a quiet, Gentle Giant of a man. May this Son of North Idaho rest in peace, and may his best memories be carried forward by his family.
