Obituary of Judy Ann Burke

Judy Ann Burke (66) resident of St. Maries, ID died August 23, 2014 at her home on the St. Joe River, near St. Maries. She was born August 26, 1947 to Alvin and Joyce (Sheldon) Bailey at Crandon, WI. Judy grew up in Fernwood, ID and attended Up River School. She graduated from St. Maries High School with the class of 1966. Following graduation, Judy married Gene Johnson. They had three children together before getting divorced around 1970. Judy married Ron Burke on August 18, 1973 at Fernwood, ID. They made their home in Seattle, WA where her husband was employed by Boeing Corp. Judy was a full time stay at home mom and raised her family. Judy was very proud being selected Queen of the Elks of Renton, WA and was a member of the Ladies of Elks there. She and Ron would spend their summer vacations visiting Fernwood. They moved to St. Maries in 2001. Judy enjoyed going Walleye fishing. Her passion was decorating ostrich egg shells. She was quite accomplished at this. Judy is survived by her husband at the family home. Sonand daughter-in-law Ronald W. and Tammie Burke Jr. of Puyallup, WA and son Arthur Johnson of St. Maries, ID. Daughters and sons-in-law Judy "Sissy" and Joe Wurzauf of Kent, WA, Lorrie and Rob Wilkerson of Colville, WA and Francie and Mike Hall of Auburn, WA. Also surviving are brother George Bailey of Coeur d' Alene, ID and sister Lois Dahlbeck of Wakefield, Michigan. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hodge Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Friday, august 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery with Deacon Floyd Turner officiating.
