Obituary of Kay Lee Long

Kay Lee Long (69) resident of Worley, ID died at her home on August 30, 2014. She was born on May 19, 1945 to Robert and Margaret Sanford in Cody Wyoming. Kay lived with her family in Cody Wyoming as a child. The family moved to Alaska where they lived for a few years before relocating to Butte Montana. She attended high school in Butte Montana before returning to Cody Wyoming. When she returned to Cody Wyoming, she married Charles Long and they started their family having 3 children Steve, Randy, and Wendy. The couple later divorced. Kay was a home maker raising her children. She met Jerry Smith and they were married in Cody Wyoming. The family moved to Colorado and bought a house with a shop. Kay used the shop for her art and crafts. She made art with Indian Artifacts and crafted with leather. The family relocated to Plummer Idaho moving into Tepee's. She continued to create her art and crafts. Jerry and Kay later divorced. Kay raised her children in Plummer and met Lee Peone. They married in Coeur d' Alene Idaho. After they were married, the couple relocated to Bedford Massachusetts where she worked at Lexington Gardens in the greenhouse. Kay and Lee returned to Plummer where they divorced. Kay moved back to Cody to help care for her parents. When her children started having grandchildren, Kay returned to Plummer to be close to them. Throughout her life she practiced homeopathic medicine, crystal healing, and massage therapy which she thoroughly enjoyed. Kay also enjoyed her art and crafts, grandchildren, and studying Astrology. Kay is survived by her sons Steve Long of Plummer, ID, Randy Long of Worley, ID, and daughter Wendy Martin of Worley, ID. She is also survived by her brother Bob Sanford JR of Tekoa, WA, sister and brother in-law Karen and Wray Jenson of Cody, WY, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. A service and potluck gathering will be Saturday September 6, 2:00 pm at the Evangeline Abraham Longhouse in Desmet Idaho.
