Obituary of Laura DeVoe Balser

Laura DeVoe Balser (47) resident of St. Maries, ID, died September 29, 2014 at Valley Vista Care Center in St. Maries. She was born March 13, 1967 to John and Marilynn (Rawson) Middleton at Evanston, IL. Laura grew up in Illinois and Ohio. She attended high school in Canal Winchester, Ohio. She married Keith Balser in 1986. They made their home in Reynoldsburg, OH where she was a homemaker raising her family. Laura was self-employed and operated a residential and commercial cleaning business. She and Keith were later divorced. Laura continued operating her cleaning business until illness forced her to close the business in 2004. She lived in the Columbus, Ohio area before moving to Valley Vista Care Center in St. Maries in October of 2010. Laura enjoyed being a mother, she also enjoyed growing things in her garden, cooking, and playing with her cat, Sarah. Laura is survived by her daughters Kylee and Kelsey Balser and daughter and son-in-law Keila and Josh Bowers all from the Columbus, OH area. Also surviving are her mother and step-father Marilynn and Dennis Sheldon of Pinedale, WY , her brother and sister-in-law Keith and Gitta Middleton of Louisville, CO and sisters Kathy Rawson and husband John Dunlosky of Stowe, OH, Erica Middleton of Philadelphia, PA and sister and brother-in-law Jeanne and Ken Fightmaster of Spokane, WA. Laura is also survived by 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held by the family at a later date.
