Obituary of Patrick James Thomas

Patrick James Thomas (20) resident of DeSmet, ID, died November 9, 2014 at DeSmet. He was born August 10, 1994 to Eugene Thomas and Janice McCoy at Spokane, WA. Patrick grew up in DeSmet, ID. When he was 15 years old, Patrick moved to Salem, Oregon to attend Chemawa High School. He graduated from there with the class of 2012. Following his graduation, Patrick and some friends took some time off to travel. He was able to visit Alaska, Seattle and Montana. This past year , he began working for the Coeur d' Alene Tribal Casino at Worley. Patrick enjoyed playing basketball. He and a group of friends played at the Benewah Wellness Center and there team name was "Dem Boyz". He also played at Hoop Fest in Spokane. Patrick was a member of the Confederated Colville Tribe. Patrick is survived by his mother Janice McCoy of DeSmet, his Father and Step-mother Eugene and Robyn Thomas of Kennewick, WA, his grandfather Jim McCoy of DeSmet and grandmother Marie Slagle of Toppinish, WA. He is also survived by his brothers Zack Dick of Nespelem, WA and Shady River Thomas of DeSmet. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, Nov. 13th at 7:00 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 14th at 11:00 a.m. both at the Evangeline Abraham Longhouse, DeSmet, ID with Fr. Robert Erickson S.J. officiating. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Mission Cemetery, DeSmet. A gathering of family and friends will follow back at the longhouse.
