Obituary of Erik Scott Andersen

Erik Scott Andersen (40) resident of Medimont, ID died March 6th 2010 from injuries he received in an automobile accident at Dickinson, N.D. Where he was working in the oil fields for Eagle Well Co. He was born January 9, 1970 to Ralph and Mary Lou (Kamp) Andersen at St. Maries, ID He was raised in the Black Lake and Medimont areas of Kootenai County. He graduated from Kootenai High School with the class of 1988 where he was active in football, backetball and track. He still holds the triple jump record for Kootenai High School. Following High School, he took some vo-tech classes at North Idaho College but, like several of his brothers, joined the family logging business. For a number of years, he worked in the woods of North Idaho and drove logging trucks. He loved the outdoors and had a passion for hunting and fishing.. He also enjoyed boating and other recreational sports. He was well liked by all because of his winning manner and wonderful sense of humor. He had a love for youth sports and enjoyed coaching the community's youth. Most of all , he loved his wife Audrey, who he married in St. Maries on December 2, 1995. She survives him at the family home at Medimont. Erik is also survived by his sons Tanner and Mason Andersen and daughters Austin and Hannah Andersen all at the family home. Also surviving are his mother Mary Lou Anderson and father and mother-in-law Bill and Jan Phillips all of Medimont. Erik is also survived by brothers and wives Joe and Laura Andersen and Earl and Jacqui Andersen all of Harrison Flats, ID, Don and Marion Andersen of Neenah, WI and Dan and Kay Andersen of Clarkston, WA His sisters and their husbands Marcia and Chris Carlson of Medimont, Terry and Gary Pullen of Brandon , OR, Debra and Jay LaKamp of Portland, OR and Donna and Bruce Day of Lewiston as well as his brother-in-law and wife Sean and Joan Phillips of Twin Bridges, MT. He was preceded in death by his father on February 17th of this year. Viewing will be Thursday and Friday March 11 and 12 from 3:00 p.m. To 5:00 p.m. And Saturday, March 13 from 9:00 a.m. To 11:00 a.m. At Hodge Funeral Home. A celebraton of his life will be Sunday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. At the Kootenai High School Gymnasium with Pastor Mike Erickson officiating.
