Obituary of Elsie May Ham
Elsie May Ham (74) resident of St. Maries, ID died March 9, 2010 at St. Maries. She was born March 2, 1936 to Carl and Florence (Petersen) Spray at Wakefield, MI. She moved to St. Maries, ID in 1953. Sept. 15, 1956, she married Richard ?Red? Powell at Coeur d' Alene, ID They made their home in St. Maries where she raised her family. She worked at various area lumber mills. She also worked for several area resturants including Minerva's and the Handi Corner. She was divorced in 1975. She married Vernon Ham in 1977. She continued to work in St. Maries as a nurses aide for Valley Vista Care Center and later she operated Marble Creek Service. She was divorced in 1993. She retired as a cook from Benewah Comm. Hospital in 2005. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, gardening, and cooking. She is survived by her son Rick Powell and son and daughter-in-law Tim and Tina Powell all of St. Maries. Her daughters and sons-in-law Jean and Scott Dittman of Calder, ID, Erin and Kenny Brudeseth of Forks, WA and her daugher Robin Allen of Santa, ID. She is also survived by brothers Pat and Gene Spray both of Santa, ID and Raymond Spray of St. Maries. Also surviving are sister Tootsie Dutton of St. Maries, 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by grandson Kenneth Powell and tow great grandchildren. Funeral Services were Friday, March 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. At Hodge Funeral Home. Iterment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery.
