With his passing, an important era for St Maries has also passed. As a high school student I spent time with Anna and wrote letters to Herb while he was overseas for her, she and Axel were very kind to my family. Everett will be missed.

Everett was a neighbor during my years in
St. Maries. Everett tough Forrest and I
how to work and play. He would give Forrest and I small jobs, pay us and we would go spend it on candy and pop.
One year during hunting season a deer came out in the hay field, Everett shot just as it jumped and the deer laid dead on the fence.
I went to visit Everett Sep. 5 2011
just befor his beed time, we had a
nice visit talking about old times.
Roland.

Forrest:
It sounds terribly weak and inconsequential at this time, but I want you to know that your father, my uncle, had a profound and positive impact upon me. I must tell you that there have been times in my journey of life that I have asked myself what a man of honesty and action like him would do. In their own way he and your mother stood for so many positive and wonderful things in this life and this country and Idaho in particular. I could never repay the honor of being able to say that that man was my uncle. You and I both have to know that he and your Mom are dancing together as they always have and always will be.

The greatest generation and a good guy. I still remember Everett in his forties jumping over the rail fence in his yard and embarrassing Forest's teenage friends who could not do it.
