Obituary of Vicki Lyn Shelden

Vicki Lyn Shelden (63) died at her residence July 30, 2010 after a long five year battle with cancer. She was born to Erle and Irma Wheeler May 5, 1947 in Orofino ID. She moved to St. Maries with her family in 1959 and attended St. Maries schools. As a young woman she received her cosmetology license first working as a beautician for Bea Krasselt and then operating her own shop in St. Maries. She later worked for the U.S. Forest Service and as a bartender for the Elks Lodge and the City Club. Beginning in the 1980�(TM)s she was employed by Regulus Stud Mill until illness forced her retirement in 2006. She enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her daughter Tammi Wendell (Joel) of St. Maries, ID. She has one granddaughter Jessica Lyn Wendell of Moscow, ID. Her parents Erle and Irma Wheeler of St. Maries, ID, her sister Jana Berglund (Leonard) of Kamiah, ID, two nephews Shawn Berglund (Margaret) of Clarkston WA and Troy Berglund (Christine) of West Richland WA. She was preceded in death by her brother Larry Wheeler in 1992. A celebration of her life will be held Friday August 13, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the St. Maries Elks Lodge. Mr. Richard Wilks conducting. The family suggests memorials be sent to Hospice of North Idaho this organization allowed Vicki to remain in her home and receive excellent care.
