Obituary of Joyce Ann Dahlby

Joyce Ann Dahlby (74) resident of St. Maries, ID died Aug. 6, 2010 at St. Maries, ID from a heart attack. She was born Nov. 11, 1935 to Carl and Opal (Crowe) Tindell at Evansville, Indiana. She grew up in Evansville, IN. She lived in Long Beach, CA for most of her adult life where she raised her family. While in Long Beach, she also worked for an assisted living complex. She married Joseph “Jake” Dahlby on Feb. 10, 1976 at Long Beach, CA They moved to Alder creek in the Benewah Valley in 1981. She continued to raise not only her family but horses, geese, chickens, ducks and dogs. She enjoyed growing her garden. Her husband died in December of 2009. She is survived by her son's and daughters-in-law Howard and Gina White of Thornton, CO, Larry and Debra Joines of St. Maries and sons Gene White of St. Maries and Tom White of Los Angeles, CA. Also surviving are daughters Karen Brewer and husband Randy and Loretta Joines and Sandy Dahlby all of St. Maries. She is also survived by brother Don Tindell and sisters Jean and Janice. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons Jerry, Terry and Travis White. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. At Hodge Funeral Home with Pastor Parker McNeill officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
