Obituary of Agnes Babe Taylor
Agnes M. "Babe" Taylor (96) long time St. Maries area resident, died Aug. 25, 2010 at St. Maries. She was born July 16, 1914 to Guy and Margaret (Cairnes) Baxter at Ward, WA. She grew up at Ward, WA and graduated from Colville WA High School with the class of 1934. She graduated from St. Joseph Hospital in 1938 with a degree in nursing.. She married Sam Taylor on Nov. 5, 1938 at St. Maries. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the Milwaukee Hospital and later for the St. Joe Valley Clinic. She retired in 1976. Her husband died in 1994. She enjoyed careing for others. She was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. The St. Joe Boat Club, The St. Maries Ladies of Elks, The Catholic Ladies Guild and the St. Maries Eagles Auxiliary. She was also a member of the St. Maries Country Club and the Benewah County Senior Citizens. She is survived by her daugher Sandy Meek of Sacramento, CA \Also surviving are brothers Art Baxter of Pearl City, HI and John Baxter of Seattle, WA. As well as 2 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Guy Baxter and George Baxter. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday August 31, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. At St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church with Fr. Timothy Ritchey celebrating. A gathering of family and friends will follow services at the Benedictine Hall. Her ashes will be placed in her husband's grave at Woodlawn Cemetery.
