Obituary of Jerome A. Tuttle

Jerome A. "Jerry" Tuttle (72) longtime St. Maries resident died March 12, 2012 at St. Maries. He was born September 29, 1939 to Ralph and Maymie (Schwenneker) Tuttle at St. Clair County, MO He grew up in Southern California and graduated from Bonita High School at LaVerne, CA in 1957. Following high school, Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was a Vietnam veteran. He and Lynnette Jones were married on March 3, 1963 at Denver, CO. During his 20 year military career , he was stationed at Reno, NV, Denver, CO and in 1973 was stationed at Lackland AFB at San Antonio , TX. He was discharged in 1978 and moved to St. Maries in July of 1978. He attended barber school at Spokane and served his internship under Bud Hetrick at St. Maries. He opened Jerry's Barber Shop in 1983. He closed the business in June of 1994 due to health related reasons. He enjoyed his workshop and wood working. Jerry and Lynnette were given a 49th wedding anniversary party on March 4th by the First Baptist Church members at Valley Vista Care Center. He was a member of the N.R.A. And the Coeur d' Alene V.F.W. Jerry is survived by his wife Lynnette at the family home. His son and daughter-in-law Brian and Julie Tuttle of Westminister, CO and son Michael Tuttle of Moscow, ID Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law Walter and Barbara Tuttle of Red Bluff, CA. He was preceded in death by brother Hilton Tuttle. A celebration of his life will be Friday, March 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodge Funeral Home, St. Maries with Pastor Ed Kopf officiating. His final resting place will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Maries, ID.
