Obituary of Frankie Masterson

Frances Elene Masterson "Frankie" (65) longtime resident of St. Maries, ID died Nov. 7, 2010 at St. Maries. She was born September 6, 1945 to Ole and Mildred (Robeson) Pedersen at Coeur d' Alene, ID. She grew up in Coeur d' Alene and Cocolalla, ID. She graduated from Sandpoint High School with the class of 1963. She married Donny Masterson on December 1, 1967 at Coeur d' Alene where they made their home and she began to start her family. She moved to St. Maries in 1969 where she was a homemaker and continued to raise her family. She served as a Blue Bird leader and score keeper for Little League Baseball games. Her husband's work took him away from home so he could support his family. Therefore, Frankie was not only "Mom" she was also "Dad, chief cook and bottle washer, carpenter, baker, seamstress and nurse." She began working at the Heyburn Elementary School in the lunch room in the mid 1980's. After her family was raised, she worked at the High School Day Care center as well as serving as a teachers aide. She enjoyed working on the Paul Bunyon Days Parade Committee. Her husband died in 2006. She was still employed by the St. Maries School Dist. At the time of her death. She is survived by her son's and daughters-in-law Mark and Teresa Masterson and Donny and Lynn Masterson all of St. Maries. Her daughters and son's-in-law Heidi and Tom Webber of Polson, MT and Kari and Kenny Nelson of St. Maries. And her daughter Kristi Masterson of St. Maries. Also surviving are brothers Gary and Don Pederson and sisters Barbara Holiday, Claudia Augustson and Donna Novoryta as well as 14 grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. A celebration of her life was held on Sat. Nov. 13, 2010 at the St. Maries Elks Lodge. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society 920 N.
