I was saddened when I just heard that Mary had passed. I have many memories of Mary and Dan who was my patient for many years. Mary did many sewing projects for me. Mostly she made my Aloha/Hawaiian shirts I always wore to work at the clinic and hospital. Initially I needed 3 yards but after a while she quietly told me I should start bringing 4 yards of fabric. She was an amazing seamstress. Several years ago a friend in St Maries sent me some pot holders and 2 of them were made with the fabric I gave her to make my shirts. What a kind and elegant lady who made my life better by being my friend.

Our grandparents, Robert & Maude Whiteside, lived across the street from the McLeods. I, too, remember what great people they both were. The whole life of St.Maries passed thru the livingroom because of Mary's sewing. I was facinated by the her skill in sewing and tailoring. I remember a Hudson Bay's coat made from a blanket, wedding dresses and formals etc. My sisters and I saw Mary upon occasion on our visiting with her after going to our grandparents graves. She was just one of the wonderful reasons for our visits to St.Maries. My condolences to her family and friends. I just learned of her passing today.

Mary and Dan lived across the street from my family when we lived in St. Maries. They were always so good to me. Mary was always willing to help me with my sewing...she pretty much taught me to sew. She and Dan will always hold a special place in my heart. I am sad just to know that she is gone. Dana (Broadfoot) Moate

Years ago I lived on Jefferson just up from Mary. I visited her house quite often and she always greeted me with a smile and cookies. For several years while I was in boy scouts Mary sewed on all my patches for me among many other thing she did for our family. I always enjoyed going down and spending time at her house. She will be missed and my condolences go to the family.
