Obituary of Phyllis A. Krueger

Phyllis Anita Krueger (88) longtime resident of St. Maries, ID died January 4, 2011 at Coeur d' Alene, ID. She was born July 27, 1922 to LeRoy and Norma (Noyes) Powell at Balsam Lake, WI. She grew up in Wisconsin until she moved to Emida, ID with her family when she was 14 years old. She attended area schools. She married Elmer "Bob" Krueger on August 27, 1938 at St. Maries. They made their home in Emida. In the early 1940's, they lived in Kingston, ID. They returned to St. Maries in 1944. She was a homemaker and raised her family. She received her GED when she was 49 years old and later attended Lyles Beauty Salon Beautician school in Coeur d' Alene and graduated in 1973. She opened her own beauty shop in St. Maries and named the business "The Hair Hut". She enjoyed serving as a Sunday school teacher and going on missions for the Foursquare Gospel Church of which she was a member. Her husband died in 1999. In 2007, she took her family on a tour of Israel . She enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her son's and daughters-in-law Roland and Molly Krueger of Boise, ID, Delmar and Debbie Krueger of St.Maries and her daughters and sons'-in law Rosalyn and Warren Bell of St.Maries and Delena and Gary Gibson of Post Falls, ID. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. At the Foursquare Gospel Church with Pastor Shane Royal officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with a gathering of family and friends following at the fellowship hall of the Church. The family suggests memorial to BetterCare c/o Benewah Comm.
