Grandpa,
How I miss you everyday and finding you on my mind daily. My heart seems so empty without you in my life. I have so many memories of you and grandma in that old house. So many things remind me of you, the big mnt in front of my house, I always picture you standing on top of it. Everytime I look at Mason I laugh because he has your ears. I always tell him "Mason and his grandpa Roger ears". Jeremy looks more and more like you the older he gets.
You are my precious sweetest grandpa and I love you and miss you so much. The pain of losing you will never go away. But I know you are happy where you are so that makes it ok.

A full year has passed and not a day goes by that my heart doesn't ache. You would be proud of the accomplishments we have made this year, I so wish you were here to celebrate them with us. I still hear your voice, calling me "sis", which gives me great comfort. Forever in my heart, Trease

The first time I met Roger, I was with his brother Rick. We went up to Roger's place to help him work on his shop. What a great man, a hard worker, but easy going and laid back. I think the second time I met Roger, he told me to stay away from his daughter. I guess the rest is history. Roger was a great family man, and would do anything to support or help his family. He would do anything to help anyone that needed it. He soon became my father-in-law and I was working side by side with him and Rick making a living sawing logs. And of course we hunted together, fished together, camped together, drank together, just worked hard and had fun together, with our families. Besides being my Father-in-law, he was a teacher, and in my heart, he was a father to me. He will be deeply missed.

Dad,
We miss you so much I find myself picking up the phone to call you and Mom to see how you are doing. Some days my memories get the best of me......
When we were little and you would come home from camp we would get into your lunch box to eat your stale cookies, twinkies and canned pudding. We thought it was the greatest thing.
We always had broken toys to be fixed and you always had them fixed by the time you went back to camp. You were our Superman.
When you left for camp we always cryed but knew you would be home at the end of the week.
Now it is hard to think about it knowing you aren't there. Someday we will see you again.
Keep the lights on for us Dad.
We Love You Dad!!!
Your First Daughter

Dad, It still is so hard to make sense out of all of this, but we have to try our best to rationalize so we can heal and move forward without you. We teased in Nov that you needed to start getting rid of some of your stuff, laughing I said "you can't take it with you". Now I find peace in knowing you did just that. It would have broke your heart to loose all those things you spent your life collecting and mine watching you mourn. This was meant to happen this way, and we must believe that God knew that.
I know you were always so proud of our accomplishments and I hope you knew they are all because of you and the work ethics and drive you so deeply instilled in us.
I miss you more than words will ever describe. The way you liked to pick a fight, when you asked ME for advice and the gentle squeeze of my midsection, reminding me that I need to lose weight. Your hugs, your kisses and your smile will never be forgotten.
I will love you forever...."Middle daughter"

For what ever word used, we all have a great memory, but yet a giant whole in our hearts. For me a thought, if only one more hug, smile or laugh, which you were so good at. Our lives will never be the same. But we are greatful for what you have taught us. With this we move forward as you would have wanted. Such a tragety is so unreal,I keep thinking I need to wake up.For you,Dad,you live on healed from what ailed you, watching over us as life moves on. You've left a legacy. Not stuck in a bed to wither away, but the chance to take everything you worked so hard for with you.How great is that! I just know how much your missed by all, especially me the one you called frog. I miss you so much Dad, hugs and kisses. See you when I get there.
Your youngest daughter.

Grandpa,
You are such a big part of my life losing you left a huge hole in my heart. I love you so very much. You are the most caring, sweetest, hard working man I will ever know. Everytime I see a logging truck, hear a diesel pickup, or smell oil I will think of you. Thank you for all the stories, and great memories you passed on to me so I can keep you alive in my kids.
You are a very special man and I love you for everything you have done.
Love
Your Grandaughter,
Tiff

Although I only met Roger a couple of times, the one thing that struck me right away when I first met him, was that he was a gentle soul.
God has a special place in his Kingdom for gentle souls.....
So although this is a very hard time for the Mager Family, I hope you will find comfort in knowing that one day you will be with your father again.
God Bless.
