Obituary of Rosa Lee Parker

Rosa Lee PARKER (85) a long time resident of St. Maries died at Sacred Heart Hospital, Spokane, WA. February 14, 2011. She was born December 3, 1925at Portland, OR. She grew up in Camas, WA. and attended schools there. She married Donald Parker February 16, 1943 at Camas, WA. And they made their home in Bengin , WA. while her husband served in WW II. She was re-united with her husband after the war at Camp Collins, CA. The later moved to Rockaway, OR. where they raised their family. She and her family re-located to Grants Pass, OR. where they lived for 10 years before moving to St. Maries, ID. In 1964. In the 1970's, she was involved in putting together the Paul Bunyan Lumber Jack at the Heyburn Elementary School which she found laying around field near the current St. Maries High School. It was a Texaco Statue that fallen off of a truck. Her husband died in 2004. Rosa was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Maries Ladies of Elks, SMHS "Lumberjacks" Booster Club. She also enjoyed doing Costume Designing and sewing. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Rod and Patti Parker of Anchorage, AK and daughter Linda Parker Hasz of Walla Walla, WA. Also surviving are her brother Merle L. Herr of Craigmont, ID, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
