Obituary of Alice L. Stratton

Alice L. Stratton (87) lifetime St. Maries area resident died March 26, 2011 at St. Maries, ID. She was born October 5, 1923 to John and Harriet (Whitehead) Spracklen at Chadron, NB. She lived at Hayden Lake, ID before moving to St. Maries when she was 9 years old. She married Reinald Schierman in 1938 at St. Maries. They were divorced in 1942. She moved to Bandon , OR where she worked as a waitress. She married Gail Bush in 1946 while living there and they were divorced shortly thereafter. In 1948 , she returned to St. Maries and married Frank Stratton on Aug. 28, 1948 at Coeur d' Alene. She made her home at St. Maries where she was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and bowling. She was a member of the St. Maries Bowling Assn. She is survived by her husband Frank Stratton at the family home in Santa, ID. Also surviving are son and daughter-in-law Don and Robin Stratton of Freeland, WA and son Charles Schierman of St. Maries. Also surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Wilma and Lawrence Banderob, Adair and Frank Hebert and Kathleen and Frank Adams all of St. Maries, Judy and Dan Miles of Albany, OR and Franky and Bob Ross of La Pine, OR. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 9 great- great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Leroy Schierman and grandchildren Daniel Miles and Kim Schierman, great grandchildren John McMunn, Jacob Miles and Carmen Griffith as well as 4 brothers and sister Margaret Fleming Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Hodge Funeral Home with Rev. Parker McNeill Officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the St. Maries Eagles Lodge.
