Obituary of Frank W. Stratton

Frank W. Stratton (88) resident of Santa, ID died June 6, 2011 at his home from an apparent heart attack. He was born May 26, 1923 to Frank and Thelma (Brockway) Stratton at St. Maries, ID He grew up in St. Maries. As a young man, he worked in the woods. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947. Following his discharge, he returned to St. Maries. He married Alice Bush on Aug. 28, 1948 at Coeur d' Alene, ID. They made their home at St. Maires. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in thelogging industry. He worked for Robinson Brothers, St. Maries Logging and Sindt Logging during his career. He retired in 1988. His wife died in March of this year. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Don and Robin Stratton of Freeland, WA. Son Charles Schierman of St. Maries, daughters and sons-in-law Adair and Frank Hebert , Wilma and Lawrence Banderob, Kathleen and Frank Adams all of St. Maries, ID, Judy and Dan Miles of Albany, OR and Franky and Bob Ross of La Pine, OR. He is also survived by Brother Glenn Stratton of Spokane, 21 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and numerous neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandchildren Daniel Miles and Kim Schierman, great grandchildren John McMunn, Jacob Miles and Carmen Griffith as well as sister Ellen Wilson, brother George Stratton and half-brother Myron Neis. Funeral Services will be Friday, June 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodge Funeral Home, St. Maries, ID. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
