Obituary of Buttons Wolfe
Larene Rae "Buttons" Wolfe (63) longtime St. Maries resident, died June 25, 2011 at Coeur d' Alene, ID following an extended illness. She was born Feb. 26, 1948 to "Tude" and Josephine (Harris) Wolfe at St. Maries. She moved to the Sacramento California area when she was 14 years old. She attended Grant Union High School in Sacramento. While living in California in the early 1970's, she was employed as a GoGo dancer. In 1977 "Buttons" moved back to St. Maries where she worked at the St. Joe Lodge as a bartender/waitress among her other various employment opportunities. She also worked as a commercial fisherman on the Washington Coast. "Buttons" enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom picking and making the "best" jerky. She loved spending time with family and close, close friends especially at family reunions and bar-b-ques. She will be greatly missed though out the community. Larene is survived by her brothers William "Bill" Wiley of Wallace, ID and Alan Daniels of St. Maries. Also surviving are her sister Kim Haynes of Mullan, ID as well as her nephews Caylan Wemhoff of Post Falls, ID , Tanner Wemhoff of St. Maries and James Wiley of Wallace, ID. Nieces Kylie Haynes of Mullan and Jessica Wiley of Moscow, ID. She is also survived by cousins Steve Chase of Biggs, CA., Michael Chase and Joe Lewis both of St. Maries, as well her canine companion "Jack" who now resides with "Big" John Connell and is well taken care of. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Gary Jolliff. A potluck celebration of her life will be held for family and friends at the home of Jerry and Wanda Wemhoff 586 Shepherd Road on July 9, 2011at 11:00 a.m. This will be an informal function.
