Dear Connie, Doug, Debbie and family,
Having just returned to Seattle after attending the most beautiful and heartwarming "Celebration of Life" for Dave, I want to tell you I was totally in awe. It comes as no surprise that he had so many, many friends. Dave was such a great guy and he has the family and friends to prove it!! I will miss him and everything he was about, especially his total love for his family and friends. I know you will have the comfort and support of all of them through these difficult days ahead and I am proud of you Connie, that you are going on with life knowing that Dave is with you in spirit. Thank you for including Christie and I in your family over the past several days. We love you all and have you in our prayers. God bless you.

Connie and family, I'm going to miss Dave, we all love him. His kindness and humor are my favorites, what a great man to know. I believe we will feel his touch on our lives for some time. I also believe we are more non physical than physical so without that old body holding him back Dave is soaring through space and time with our creator and he is still here at times.
God Bless you!!

Thanks Dave, for adding so much class and respect to our clubhouse. Whenever we watched you play, it gave us all that 'Green Jacket' feeling of professionalism. Am so sorry Connie. A huge thanks goes to both of you for helping us all reach a higher standard of golf. God Bless your family and please accept my wife Cindy and I's sincerest condolences.

Our hearts go out to dear, dear Connie and Family. Our memories of Dave will forever live in our hearts. As he fought his courageous battle with cancer, we admired his determination and positive attitude. Because of these traits he exhibited, Dave will continue to be our role model. We know very well our turn will come to enter a different realm; we only hope and pray we will be able to do it as graciously as Dave. Dave Hanley's life definitely made a difference to those acquainted with him. God Bless You, Connie and Family. The Lenharts

Dave was the true epitome of the term "gentleman". He was a fighter who constantly kept his situation in perspective. He loved and was deeply loved by all those who knew him. I rest easy knowing that he is in a better place, playing golf on the most gorgeous course imaginable with a sun at his back that never sets. Rest in Peace.

Dear Connie, Doug and Debbie,
I am so sorry to hear about Dave. As you know, we were all one big family up at the golf course throughout the 90's. I spent many wonderful Thursday nights with Dave and looked up to him as a wonderful family man, golfer, and story teller. Dave used to sing so wonderfully sitting with a beer after our round. I would like to say Dave taught me a bit on how to act on the golf course...He made me a better golfer and man. You may know that I am fighting cancer right now so please excuse me on Saturday. I will be there in heart and spirit. We lost a true friend with Dave and I will cherish every moment I had the privilage to spend with him. God bless all of you.

Dear Connie, Debra,& Doug,
Just thinking back, I remember Doug in High School, you were in school with my son Eric, and if I remember right you had a Dodge Charger. I met Debra though her husband Kenny, a bit of a car buff like myself. Connie, you and Geese & Things, we still miss it for those special occasions. And Knickers, that is where I first got to know Dave. I have never been a golfer, but it was a great place to eat, and Connie's decorating touch was on display, but I remember best the photo of Dave golfing on Jan 1. I knew then he was a real die hard golfer. When I looked at the Opinion Page in the Gazette, if Dave had a letter I always read it and always agreed, he had a good way of expressing my opinion!
Dave will be sorely missed by all that knew him. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Hanley families ~ Easter 2012 will be memorialized for me, as I celebrated my 66th birthday, I was praying gratitude to God for my birth as well as for my parents who passed in the 90's. It struck me, in prayer, that truly "God giveth & God taketh" and it is all for good. Fondly, I remember Dave as very community-minded and generous in his donations to Paul Bunyan Days Auction. He was gregarious and treated people with respect. To have known him was an honor. He always had a smile..at the course or at the Elks Lodge. Blessings to all of you!

Connie and Family,
I was truly shocked when I learned of Dave's passing. I had no idea he was so ill. My heart goes out to you all. I can't imagine the void you must feel; even tho that void is real and deep in me. Connie I will always remember with great fondness our many days on the golf course in St. Maries and our trip to Canada. Or our snowmobiling trip to Priest Lake, or the many parties and get-togethers we enjoyed. I so admired and respected Dave for his intellect, his quick mind, and his character. I truly believe my sides STILL ache from all the laughter he caused; I've never met a funnier man! Please know I look forward to teeing it up with you both again.
With heartfelt condolences,
Love, Craig

I am honored to have known him. I am sad he is gone and will miss him terribly, but so grateful the lord put him in my path. I would like the Hanley Family to accept my condolences for their loss.

I always secretly wished Dave was MY dad. Yes, even when he was giving me embarrassing nicknames in my teenage years. I will always be grateful for the time I got to spend with the Hanley family and will especially remember Dave's dry sense of humor and amazing oratory skills. I know he will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.
