Obituary of Sandra Kay Moore

Sandra Kay Modrell Moore, 51, passed away suddenly on August 21, 2011 at Calder, ID. She was born September 5, 1959 in Mountain Home, ID to Jack and Zelda Cartwright Modrell. She attended elementary school in Calder and began high school in St. Maries. She graduated from Sandy High School in Sandy Oregon in 1976. Sandy married Joe DeMarsh at Sandy, Oregon in 1977. In 1985 she and Joe moved with their young family to Alaska where they made their home. They were later divorced. After returning to Idaho, Sandy married Kenny Moore in 1993 at St. Maries. They and their eight daughters made their home near St. Maries. Sandy enjoyed the outdoors camping and hunting with her family. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren and took pleasure in being their cheerleader as they participated in various sports and 4-H events. She also loved cooking and spending time with her extended family and friends. Sandy is survived by her husband, Kenny Moore and daughter, Krista, at the family home; daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and Troy Green, Elizabeth DeMarsh and Jared Ridenour, Kelci and Bret Nelson, Kathleen DeMarsh all of St. Maries; Jamie and Josh Spear, Joanna and Andrew Lugdon, Alaska; and Shannon and Josh Fish, Post Falls. She is also survived by her father, Jack Modrell Sr., her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Charlie Harpole and sister, Betty Nemeth, Calder; ten grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition Sandy leaves behind her lifelong friend, Jackie Sindt. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Zelda, and brothers "Little Jack" Modrell and James "Tommy" Modrell.
