Condolence to my adopted grandparents that I wish I got the the chance to know more growing up. I remember when papa Ed would take me horse back riding and to see the pony. Grandma Max for all the goodies she gave me during my only visit I got to do. I'm blessed to be named after grandma Max. Rest easy papa Ed and grandma Max.
Always in my Heart,
Patricia Maxcine Joslin

He was such an amazing man and teacher! 6th grade was by far my favorite year of school. We had fun getting photos of his beloved fog through mrs. Gecko to have the portrait painted... I also remember being sick at the start of 6th grade camp..he personally drove me up there and bought me lunch. He will always be in our hearts.

Sometimes in life you are blessed to meet the most amazing and unforgettable person, for me that was and shall always be Ed Fecko.
The most inspiring and communicative teacher I have ever known. Thank you Mr. Fecko, for everything.
P.S I still have the lucky horseshoe you gave me at our rsf reunion from your motorcycle.
I will cherish it, as I will all of my memories of you, always.

I was a very young teacher, first-timer at junior high level, and I teamed w/Ed Fecko for years and years. He even became the Godfather of my first-born - who also made the Army part of his life. Ed taught me to keep real for the kids we taught and to not get pulled under by the administrative powers and the detail of over-planning lessons. He'd pull up w/the rev of his Harley, smoke his cigars, snooze during meetings, not care about a cute bulletin board, and rescue us all from the daily-teacher-load with his more universal, down-to-earth perspective. Ed Fecko stood out as a rock, a tree, a solid truth of what really mattered in Life. I loved him.

I had Mr. Fecko as my 4th grade teacher at Rancho Santa Fe elementary. That must have been early in his teaching career, but he was by far my favorite teacher! He was kind and truly interested in all his students, and yet imposing is stature so most didn't try too many shenanigans! My sister Lynn had him before me and we a learned of his love for German Shepherds. Her class had a portrait painted of his beloved dog after it passed away. That's how much we all cared for him.
I was so interested learning of his life in the Pullman area, my son graduated from the University of Idaho in Moscow !
My condolences for your loss, but such a gain to have had him in our lives!

Ed Fecko was my math teacher at Rancho Santa Fe Middle School. He was hard to forget and easy to remember-always willing to go the extra mile and help us who were math "challenged". There are some teachers who will always hold a place in your heart because you know they really cared-that was Mr. Fecko. He was always upbeat and willing to go the extra mile. I wish I had known more about him back then and later. Ironically my path in life has been similar as I joined the Army in 1981 and was a Czech linguist later on, debriefing Czech refugees during the Cold War-it would have been a kick to sit back over a beer, preferably a Pilsner Urquell, and discuss both topics with him....what a gem and how lucky I was to have known him and had him as a teacher!

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Fecko's passing. He was my math teacher at Rancho Santa Fe School.
Mr. Fecko was my most memorable teacher and the coolest. He rode up on his Harley, wearing his sunglasses and was kind and funny but no B.S. either.
He told us wonderful stories about his childhood to make us appreciate what we had, as well as stories about his wife and daughters and dogs.
He taught us math equations from all angles so we truly understood how to dissect any math problem, and more importantly, how to determine the equation to solve a problem. I never forgot any of it.
I teach the same principles to my 8th grader grandson now. Mr. Fecko's gift of teaching has left his legacy not only on his students but it has carried on to future generations.

Hi Maxine--so sorry I didn't get you a card earlier. I didn't hear about Ed until sometime in September. We don't take the St Maries paper anymore. I just loved Ed--what a guy! I hope he didn't have to suffer for long. That darn cancer is terrible.
Hope all is well with you. Why don't you come to Tekoa sometime--we have some cute stores and then we could go to lunch!
My thoughts and prayers are with you--
Love Cheryl

Ed Fecko
Good old Ed Fecko
He lived one hell of a life…
Right up until the end
His mind was as sharp as a knife.
He had lots of words of wisdom
Most he didn’t even follow…
But he made sure you heard them
Even if they were hard to swallow!
He loved his friends and family
And was known for his quotable quips…
He loved his Harley Davidson
And his many long distance trips!
So when you hear that low rumble
of a Harley driving by…
Think of Ed Fecko
who was one hell of a guy!

The first time we met Ed and Maxine was in 1981. The moment we walked in the door, Ed greeted us as if he had known us forever. And he did that every time we walked in the door, and he did it with every other person who walked in the door. He also came to our table each visit to ask about the meal and our enjoyment of it. We met Maxine that same evening and learned why the meal was so delicious. If Ed discovered it was a birthday or anniversary of some kind, magically there appeared an "on the house" dessert. The Parkline became one of our favorite places to dine-out, and we grieved our loss when it closed (both times). For all those great dinners, Ed and Maxine, we thank you.

I am very sorry for the recent loss of your loved one, Edward J. Fecko. I have a brief encouraging message I would like to share with you from God's Word, the Bible. The Bible can be a great source of both comfort & hope during this most difficult time in your lives. For one example, at Revelation 21:3-5 it assures us that the day is soon coming when our loving Heavenly Father is going to wipe away the tears of sorrow from our eyes forever and that even pain & death will be no more. I hope after reading this it will be of some comfort to each one of you. If later you would like to learn more from the Bible about why we die or why does a loving God allow so much suffering & injustice, please feel free to go to the website: www.jw.org to find some very satisfying answers.

"Uncle Ed" was an inspiration to our family. His strength in spirit and kindness of heart served as a role model. Thea has shared many stories and Irene adored Ed and talked about him as a saintly man. We know Irene and Ed are hugging and laughing about these stories and bragging about their family and friends with each other and all who can hear. Prayers for his loved ones. Love Phil Calhoun

Our family will never forget Ed. He was the nicest person and a great neighbor. He always made time to visit with Marlana when she was little, sitting up at the bar in Parkline, talking his ear off. She also enjoyed it when Ed pulled her around on the dance floor in the height chair. Thanks to Ed, I fell in love with Rottweiler's. When I eventually got my own, he never let Paul live it down that I finally had a Rott! It meant so much to me when my dog had Ed's stamp of approval. RIP my friend and may you be riding your Harley and eating Butterfinger's in the great beyond. Our sincere sympathy to you, Max, and your family.
